Our Story

Innovative Building Products (IBP) is a family business, owned and operated by Konrad and Robyn Attenberger.

As an engineer and toolmaker by trade, Konrad has been designing and producing building products since 1982 and together with Robyn established the Tool Room engineering company in 2003.

In 2011 a bricklayer friend challenged Konrad and Robyn to design and create a premium brick tie, having been disappointed by other market products. The IBP team rose to the challenge, and since then has been New Zealand's leading brick tie producer.

Konrad and Robyn are proud that their products are New Zealand designed, New Zealand made, and are working with other great kiwi companies. Their products have been used right around the country.

Great customer service is a core value of IBP. The team also prides itself on its quality products and always being available to offer great technical advice and support.

Outside of engineering, Konrad is a keen fisherman and guitarist. Robyn is a first responder with St John's Ambulances. And the family dog Chilli happily accompanies them everywhere, even working reception at the East Tamaki warehouse.
